The Simple Woman’s Daybook for January 29, 2018

For Today…

Looking out my window … there’s a soft, rosy glow slowly filling the Eastern sky.

I am thinking … about our slower than usual Monday, but still all of the things that need to be done.

I am thankful … for a productive weekend and a blessed Lord’s Day.

One of my favorite things … apple cinnamon oatmeal. I used to like the packets, but I made it for breakfast this morning and it was yum.

I am wearing … still pajamas, but soon walking clothes.

I am creating … organized files because I opened a bunch of mail over the weekend and began to organize our papers. More to do, but at least the first step with culling is done.

I am reading … Norms and Nobility because I have book club tonight and I’m not quite ready.

I am hoping … to finish that and read some Beauty in the Word. I was doing well, then sickness got me. But this year, I am a book club participant and I will catch up!

I am learning … about education and habits and how the two work hand-in-hand.

In my kitchen … I have leftover chicken from Saturday night, so we’ll have chicken noodle soup for lunch. Yum.

In the school room … I took down the Christmas decorations and did the paperwork on Saturday, so I’ll need to catch up with the pre-reading as the week goes on. Sometimes that’s how life happens. I’d like to try to get a week or two ahead, but that hasn’t happened yet. We’re on the downward slide to break week – week 4 of our 6.  That’s always a happy feeling.

Post Script … This week we’re going to be discussing Narration on Charlotte Mason IRL. It should be a great week!! You don’t have to be on Instagram to follow along, just check in a couple of days.

A moment from my day … yesterday’s morning fog. So beautiful.

Closing Notes: CNN10 has been a great way to do current events with our kids. I’m thinking about how to do a Current Events keeping notebook with the kids. Exciting times.
