For those of you who don’t know, I’m the COBRA Administrator for my company. This means I work with people who are no longer employees (and often aren’t happy about it). No big thing, you learn to deal with it, but I got this call today from another HR person in my company:

“Why didn’t Mr. So-and-so get COBRA paperwork?”

“I don’t know, I’ll have to look in his file and call you back,” says I.

I call back, “Well, he didn’t receive COBRA paperwork because he didn’t have Medical or Dental benefits.”

“Oh, he doesn’t get COBRA then?” she questions.
