Well, it has been a while, hasn’t it.
Last night we got some books from Amazon. One of them was the new Mary Higgins Clark book On the Street Where You Live. I’ve been a huge fan of MHC’s since I was young and my mom read them to us when we were on trips. Now, I read them as soon as they come out (as they conveniently seem to come out every year right around Mother’s Day – so I buy two copies
One of the other books I got (Jason got several other books) is The Divine Conspiracy: Rediscovering Our Hidden Life in God. It looks much more daunting than I had imagined, but it’ll be the next on my list, I believe.
I’m very excited that on Monday, I get to go read to a class of fifth graders. I have always been a reader, but fourth and fifth grade was when I really started to read voraciously. My fourth grade teacher, read to us Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl and that led me on a Holocaust Survivor and World War II binge of reading. Strangely, I’ve never again been able to read Anne’s diary, but I’ve read many books on the subject for many years. Anyway, I tell you this because I’m supposed to take a book with me and share about my favorite book in fifth grade – so it’ll be a trip to the library to find it. I’m really looking forward to going to school again :).
