Wednesdays with Words: All Things
During Sunday School, we are studying how the Old Testament and New Testament both testify to Jesus’ divinity. One way is that the writers of the New Testament talk about Jesus as the writers of the Old Testament talked about the one true God. Both parts of scripture use the term “all things” to describe the omnipotence and power of God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I’ve been writing a study for Upper Elementary students about Charlotte Mason’s motto which includes the line, “I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me.” In one of my favorite talks, Andrew Kern discusses how “all things are ours in Christ.” So, in my writing, I searched the Bible for the phrase and was shocked to find “all things” was used 80 times in the scriputres.
