FOR TODAY

Outside my window…is a hot and hazy August day.  Oh, wait.

I am thinking…about our week’s school work.  Will we be able to finish Story of the World II by the end of the year? I’m thinking not.  We don’t have 12 weeks left …

I am thankful…that Jason has today off so we can have fun with different groups of friends!

In the kitchen…water’s on to boil for pasta salad.

I am wearing…shorts and a red top.

I am creating…assignment boxes for the kiddos.  I made the sheets on Saturday, now I have to fill the folders.

I am going…to a birthday party for two of my maid of honor’s children!

I am wondering…how it’s possible that we have soon-to-be nine year olds.

I am reading…Have His Carcase by Dorothy Sayers.  A happy reprieve after finishing Pilgrim at Tinker Creek and before restarting Desiring the Kingdom (restarting for the second time).

I am hoping…that I’m being obedient to Christ and using his means of grace rightly.  Excellent sermon last night.

I am looking forward to…soccer starting.  I do enjoy the season.  I’m going to try not to complain because soccer is fun.

I am learning…to not compare.

Around the house…N-boy has been vacuuming.  Awesome!

I am pondering…today’s schedule.  A lot to do and only so much time.

A favorite quote for today…

I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition. ~Martha Washington

One of my favorite things…fried eggs for breakfast.  Yum.

A few plans for the rest of the week…Birthday party, cookout with friends. Soccer and piano.  Maybe a trip to the grocery store sometime.

A peek into my day…

Fun at the Columbus Clippers game!
