FOR TODAY

Outside my window…it’s sunny, blue skies, and cold.

Praising God…for the testimony at our church last night from a man visiting from the Dominican Republic where our church does an English Camp each summer.

I am thinking…about starting lessons.  Late. Again.

I am thankful…that Jason and the children had a great time geocaching yesterday.

In the kitchen…the dishwasher needs unloaded and reloaded with the dishes from the Lord’s Day.

I am wearing…jeans and a grey sweater.  One of my favorites.

I am creating…grocery list day.

I am going…shopping tonight.

I am wondering…what I’ll decide to serve this week. Any suggestions?

I am reading…That Hideous Strength. Over the weekend I re-read Mary Stewart’s gothic romance This Rough Magic. It is my favorite of hers.  I love how she weaves that story together with Shakespeare’s The Tempest.

I am hoping…to finish That Hideous Strength.  I should focus on it.

I am looking forward to…the last week of basketball season.  It’s been fun – and busy – but I’m ready for a break before soccer.

I am learning…about God’s processes and to rest and rely on them.

Around the house…I vacuumed the main floor this morning.  More cleanup to do.

I am pondering…Fearing God.

A favorite quote for today…Charles Bridges said, “But what is fear, this fear of the Lord? It is
the affectionate reverence, by which the child of God bends himself
humbly and carefully to his father’s law.”

One of my favorite things…getting back into our routines. Last week was a little wacky, this week we need to get moving.

A few plans for the rest of the week…last week of the basketball season! Huzzah!

A peek into my day…

I was reading at the kitchen table, and stood up to see this … No, she’s not allowed there.
