The Simple Woman’s Daybook for December 23, 2013

FOR TODAY two days before Christmas …

Outside my window… it is cold and dark.

I am thinking…about M-girl and her nasty cold.

I am thankful…that she was able to get antibiotic eyedrops for her double conjunctivitis.

In the kitchen… I should be making dinner, chex mix, and pretzel kisses.  Instead, I am not. ETA: Jason just got home and wants to order Chinese food! Who am I to dispute that?

I am wearing…jeans and brown, long-sleeved t-shirt.

I am creating…nothing … I finished my Christmas creating.

I am going…to stay home until church time tomorrow.

I am wondering…if M-girl will be well enough to go ๐Ÿ™

I am reading…Nine Tailors by Dorothy Sayers and re-started L’Engle’s The Irrational Season. I’d like to finish both in 2013.

I am hoping…M-girl is healthy enough to go tomorrow and on Christmas.

I am looking forward to…๐Ÿ™‚  Need you ask?

I am learning…about not procrastinating … all the presents were wrapped on Saturday and today has been kind of lazy taking care of M-girl.  Chances that I’ll still procrastinate on other things? High.

Around the house…things are pretty good. I should vacuum tomorrow at some point, but we have a super-muddy back yard so it is something of an exercise in futility.

I am pondering…freedom … Galatians 3:29-4:7 … our Associate “meditated” on it for last night’s Lessons and Carols service.

A favorite quote for today…Here are 11 fun Chesterton quotes that George Grant pulled for his Eleventary blog.  I particularly liked this one, โ€œFallacies do not cease to be fallacies because they become fashions.โ€

One of my favorite things…Christmas! I just love it … and I love all the trappings, too.

A few plans for the rest of the week… Christmas, relax, relax, Christmas.  Get M-girl better.

A peek into my day…
