The Simple Woman’ Daybook for January 18, 2010

FOR TODAY January 18, 2010 …

Outside my window… There is mud. From melted snow. That the dog tracks in. Come back freezing temperatures? Please?

I am thinking… About the cycle of the year and topics on which to focus during months and how to plan ahead.

I am thankful for… Martin Luther King Jr Day … that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Oh, and that my husband gets the day off work 😉

From the learning rooms… Holiday! Daddy’s home! We’ll still do memory work sometime.

From the kitchen… We’re going to try Crockpot Lasagna for supper tonight.

I am wearing… jammies, but I hope to wear the new sweater my Mother in Law got for my (early) birthday and a skirt.

I am creating… a lesson plan template based on Andrew Kern’s Contemplation of Nature Talk #2. It is so good. Yes, Heather & Jeanelle, we can listen on our way to Cincinnati!

Lesson Plans

I am going… to take down the Christmas tree today!

I am reading… Parenting from the Heart by Marilyn Boyer. Thanks, Trish!

I am hoping… to get new tires on the van.

I am hearing… N-boy explain to his daddy about the airplane he created out of Trio blocks. Thanks, Aunt J & Uncle D!

Around the house… the dishwasher and washing machine are working away. Soon, the dryer will be added into the mix.

One of my favorite things… my crockpot. Safe, hot dinner when I get home from tumbling … or anywhere else.

A few plans for the rest of the week: school, dentist for me, library & playdate with friends.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing… maybe later. Computer is uncooperative 😉

  1. Let me know how you like the crockpot lasagna- I've always wanted to try that but never have. Mrs. Dickerman has a yummy recipe for that!

  2. The crockpot lasagna was a hit! I used half ground beef and half sausage. Oh, and 1 can regular 1 can Italian style diced tomatoes instead of the sauce. Easy, yummy. Ready after gym class. Woo-hoo!

  3. Great daybook! Lots of good info. I love crockpot lasagna. I will check to see if your recipe is different than mine. I'm using mine loosely. It's just a copy. I hope you have a wonderful week. Doylene
