Library.

I’m having a hard time deciding because this book was a tale of two halves for me.  I loved the first part, but got bogged down in the chapter of sentences in the additive style and never really got back into the groove with it.  I had to force my way through. The last chapter recovered some of my appreciation where he married form and content together.

I think part of the problem was that I really appreciated the content of using forms and the ideas about sentences and what they are.  The end of the book devolved into explicating individual sentences and had less cohesion. The format felt less about how to write a sentence and more about finishing the book … not just my reading, but the actual writing of it.

Glad I read it (at least the first half).  Glad I don’t have to read it again.  I hope to put some commonplace quotes up on my blog.
