Yuletide Session: Other events
On Thursday, we had a lot of running around, so needed something calm to do. We watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the animated one) Always a favorite of my children 🙂
On Friday, we enjoyed the morning at a friend’s home having a Mommy Christmas Brunch and play date for the children. What fun!
This morning, we checked into a wonderful resource, the Digital Concert Hall of the Berliner Philharmonic. A wind ensemble from the Philharmonic played the Nutcracker Suite adapted for wind ensemble, children danced, and it was live and free! M-girl and N-boy enjoyed it a lot (even in German), there are supposed to be English subtitles in the archive which will make it better. There was a lot of explanation going on which we weren’t getting, so I’ll probably watch again once the subtitles are available. It looks like they offer a number of pieces free online as well offering purchasable tickets to performances. While they aren’t inexpensive, it is significantly cheaper than taking a family of 5 to the symphony … and offer more training experience at home 🙂
