When I took Nate for his two week pediatrician appointment, he weighed 12 lbs and was inches long.

The nurse dutifully wrote those numbers down and charted them for the doctor to discuss with me. He came in and said, “Hmmm. Looks like 75th percentile for weight and 95th percentile for height.”

I must’ve looked like he was a crazy man. I questioned him, “12 lbs is only 75th percentile?” He looked at the chart again. “Oh, she charted him at 2 months. Psycologically, he seems like a two month old instead of two weeks. He’s 95th percentile for both height and weight.” I also think it’s funny that he’s so tall that he’s taller than the same percentile at two weeks and two months.

On Monday, just after turning 1 month, he already weighed 15 lbs on our baby scale.

  1. Jay was tall for his age until maybe 9 months, at which point, the pediatrician said, genetics had caught up with him. I don’t imagine Nate will start measuring short at any point, since he came by his height honestly 😉

  2. Meg looks adorable! It is a blessing to have you all living so close-we so enjoy your children! (Oh, and you and Jason’s friendship also!) I want to take a closer look at Meg’s apron and try to make one!
