Weekly Report: 5/10/10-5/14/10

Monday was OK, Tuesday was awful, Wednesday was pretty good as a direct result of what we learned Tuesday [smile].

Memory Work:

Bible: We worked on Genesis 1:12.

Catechism/Creed: OK, *now* M-girl & N-boy are ready to move to new sections of Catechism. R-girl is doing well, but I don’t want to move her too quickly.

Hymn: We started the next verse of How Great Thou Art. So fun 🙂

Poetry: R-girl is working on “After the Party” She knows the whole thing, just not in order 😉 N-boy and M-girl are working on Jonathan Bing which they think is funny.

Phonics:

M-girl: Moving right along in McGuffey and OPG. She learned about short vowels that make other short vowel sounds (o making a /u/ sound).

N-boy: N-boy is working on shoring up his two consonant sounds so he can move on. He can read the words fine … if he’s willing to try.

R-girl: She just wanted to read stories, so we did.

Math:

M-girl: She did some more MEP. She finds it easy because it is behind where we are in Ray’s.

N-boy: If I say, point at the 11, he can do so. If I point at the 11 and ask for the name, he can’t. Working working working.

R-girl: Counting.

Grammar:

M-girl: Done with pronouns!

Bible: We finished Big Thoughts for Little Kids in our family devotions. We read more of Vos’ Children’s Story Bible and more daily Proverbs.

Read Alouds: We’re 1 story away from finishing the Just So Stories! Hooray! We have really enjoyed this as a family read aloud.

Soccer this morning:

Our baby birds:

  1. Oh, I have to admit that I do not miss those busy soccer days. The children enjoyed it but we were never home!!! I'm sure it is different for you all since you live closer & only have 2 in soccer.

The baby birds are so much fun- it has been fun to watch them grow via the pics. 🙂

Hope you have a better week!
