Wednesdays with Words: Living
January and February have brought blow upon blow of bad news for some whom we love. 2022 has been a challenging year so far – many to pray for, many to serve as we can.
I’m thankful for some of my reading which points me to higher things.
In Voices from the Past: Puritan Devotional Reading I was reminded, this morning,
What is a Christian but one who is joyful? Does not the kingdom of heaven consist in joy?
Quoting Samuel Ward, Sermons, pg 25-27
Voices from the Past pg 47
Sometimes it really is a challenge, and yet we trust in God and look to Him in trial. Therefore, we can rejoice. Rejoice Always. And truly live:
LENGTH OF LIVING How strangely inaccurate it is to measure length of living by length of life! The space between your birth and death is ofte far from a true measure of your days of living.
Circle of the Seasons: The Journal of a Naturalist’s Year, pg 27

I had a conversation with one of the boys from church today as I brought him home from co-op. He told me that he hoped in heaven it wasn’t that he just “knew everything” because the learning is the joy.
Out of the mouths of babes, He has ordained praise.
Learn, rejoice, live.
