The Simple Woman’s Daybook for September 24, 2012
FOR TODAY
Outside my window… cold and dark. A bit of frost on the ground. Welcome, autumn!
I am thinking… about pumpkin foods …
I am thankful… that our Presbytery’s Women’s Retreat went so very well this weekend. What a wonderful time of learning and fellowshipping.
In the kitchen… we’ll be creative today ’cause I haven’t been to the grocery in a while … but maybe I’ll make something pumpkiny.
I am wearing… jeans, my UUNET tid-dye tshirt, and my OBX hoodie.
I am creating… trick or treat costume plans …
I am going… to the zoo sometime this week, but maybe not today.
I am wondering… if my tomatoes made it last night.
I am reading… The Secret of Contentment by Barcley. I’m getting close to finished. It was perfect to be reading at the same time as the retreat on that topic.
I am hoping… to find rest in Christ … in all things …
I am looking forward to… all the fun autumnal things we do … zoo, Leeds Farm, Trick or Treat, Thanksgiving … vacation.
I am learning… about Christ’s intercession. It seems to be the theme in my life right now, constantly being pulled out and pointed out to me.
Around the house… hm. Time to do some work.
I am pondering… changes to our school and how they will work out.
A favorite quote for today… “I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.” ~Martha Washington
One of my favorite things… Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl. I got to stop there on Friday with my friend joy and it was great fun 🙂
A few plans for the rest of the week… some school, a zoo trip, soccer, cleaning, resting. Homeschool choir starts tomorrow. Piano lessons. It never seems like too much until it becomes a lot.
A peek into my day…

Oh, we miss the zoo! It's not as fallish here. 🙁
I wanted to sign the older kids up for choir this fall, but the director told me she was no longer doing it. Are you going someplace else?
Love the quote!
