The Simple Woman’s Daybook for October 8, 2012

FOR TODAY

Outside my window… sunny and chilly.

I am thinking… I like having the fireplace run a little.

I am thankful… Jason had the day off and turned the fireplace on.

In the kitchen… pork chops and sauerkraut for dinner.

I am wearing… jammies and sweatshirt.  I was pretty chilly.

I am creating…

I am going… purchase M-girl’s birthday present.

I am wondering… if it is too late to get it from Amazon or if I’ll need to purchase locally.

I am reading… Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy.  Slowly.

I am hoping… to speed up so I don’t get behind.

I am looking forward to… M-girl’s eighth (eighth) birthday Saturday!

I am learning… about plate tectonics. Loving Voskamp’s A Child’s Geography.

Around the house… we did a lot of laundry and cleaning in the last week.  Needs vac’d, but not terrible.

I am pondering… how to do school changes.

A favorite quote for today…

One of my favorite things… M-girl 🙂 (OK, she’s not a thing, but she did pack our picnic for Saturday’s 5 hours of soccer.  Yay for big kids!)

A few plans for the rest of the week… chorus, soccer, but no piano! Our teacher is getting married today and heading for Hawaii. Best wishes for them!
