The Simple Woman’s Daybook for October 7, 2013
FOR TODAY
Outside my window…is quite the departure from last week’s sun and blue skies! It’s grey, and cold, and rainy.
I am thinking…what a wonderful time we had in Hilton Head last week!
I am thankful…that we had safe travels to and fro and that I’m mostly unpacked already this morning.
In the kitchen…I’m like Old Mother Hubbard, the cupboards are bare (well, somewhat) Next up: Grocery List!
I am wearing…jeans, socks, and Buckeye t-shirt for work.
I am creating…plans for our very busy week. Very busy, eep!
I am going…to stay home while Jason goes to pick up the dogs. I’m glad he took today off!
I am wondering…what N-boy is playing!? He was practicing Christmas Carols but is now messing around.
I am reading…Madeleine L’Engle’s The Irrational Season. I’m also listening to Tim Challies’ The Next Story while working. On vacation I finally finished Leonardo and the Last Supper, Hangman’s Holiday, and we listened to all of The Swiss Family Robinson (free from Librivox! Hurrah, Kayray!)
I am hoping…this return week goes smoothly.
I am looking forward to…planning and shopping.
I am learning…to do the next thing. I seem to be a slow learner.
Around the house…there is still plenty to do.
I am pondering…this week’s schedule.
A favorite quote for today…“Home again, Home again, Jiggety Jig!” Mother Goose.
One of my favorite things…Hilton Head Island, SC. We figured that I’ve been going to that condo since I was 7. That’s a long time; I’m so happy to share it with my husband and children.
A few plans for the rest of the week…school, soccer, piano, ice skating, soccer, home school book club, soccer mini-tournaments, Jason’s cousin’s wedding … oh, my.
A peek into my day…
Sunset, last night on the beach. |
