The Simple Woman’s Daybook for November 12, 2012

FOR TODAY

Outside my window… dark, but now it’s because it’s night.

I am thinking…
about eating ice cream and that I probably won’t.

I am thankful…
for a fantastic trip to Hilton Head Island with family.

In the kitchen…
there are groceries recently put away.

I am wearing…
jeans, green shirt, striped sweater.

I am creating… plans for Yuletide Session.  I just need to start writing them down.

I am going… to go to bed after I finish this post.

I am wondering…  how tomorrow will go after Jason goes to work.  It’s been wonderful having him around for the last 12 days! I love him.

I am reading…Clouds of Witness by Dorothy Sayers.  But only because I left my White Horse King book at my parents’ house yesterday. [boo]

I am hoping… to get my book back soon somehow.

I am looking forward to… seeing Skyfall on Friday with Jason.

I am learning… about Alfred the Great … when I have my book!

Around the house… well.   You should look over there!

I am pondering… projects for gifts.

A favorite quote for today…

“It is a miracle if you can find true friends, and
it is a miracle if you have enough food to eat, and it is a miracle if
you get to spend your days and evenings doing whatever it is you like to
do, and the holiday season – like all the other seasons – is a good
time not only to tell stories of miracles, but to think about the
miracles in your own life, and to be grateful for them, and that’s the
end of this particular story.” Lemony Snicket

One of my favorite things… getting to spend 12 days with my husband.

A few plans for the rest of the week…
breakfast for dinner on Thursday.  Choir.  Gloriously nothing on Saturday. Jason is even planning on making chili that day.

A peek into my day…

At the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn on Hilton Head Island.

  1. Oooh, I love that quote from Lemony Snicket. Isn't amazing where you can find visionary knowledge? I also liked your comment about your house. Isn't that always the way it is when you get home from vacation. So glad you had a lovely get away.
    Visiting from The Simple Woman
    Blessings!

  2. What a great quote from Lemony Snicket. One of my daughters really loved reading the series that Lemony wrote.

12 days off with your spouse – makes for a wonderful time. I was just off for 9 days with my hubby. I didn't want to go back to work!

  3. I have to admit that I found the quote in Real Simple magazine (and then googled so I could copy and paste …) We've not read any Lemony Snicket and, frankly, I was shocked by the source.
