The Simple Woman’s Daybook for July 22, 2013

FOR TODAY

Outside my window… heavy rain, some thunder and lightning, my phone just notified me of a flash flood warning …

I am thinking… this is the rainiest summer I remember.

I am thankful… for a comfortable, dry house.

In the kitchen… the remains from a family reunion haunt me.

I am wearing… a much shorter pony tail.  Had maybe 8 inches of hair cut off on Thursday.

I am creating… portfolios of M-girl and N-boy’s work for curriculum review next Sunday.

I am going… to have a hard time gathering appropriate work.

I am wondering… how they’ll make up the swim lessons that were cancelled this morning.

I am reading… Five Red Herrings and The Shaping of a Christian Family.

I am hoping… to finish one of them soon. 

I am looking forward to… free evenings in August – no sports teams!

I am learning… about how to read Job from our pastor’s sermons.  They’ve been so helpful!

Around the house… there’s cleanup to be done!

I am pondering… taking a nap.  I’m still tired this morning.

A favorite quote for today…

One of my favorite things… R-girl’s curly hair.  The humidity tightens the curls. They are also one of my least favorite things.

A few plans for the rest of the week… Swim lessons.  School. Ah.  We’ll probably go to the car show on Saturday, too.
