The Simple Woman’s Daybook for December 30, 2013

FOR TODAY the final Monday of 2013.  Wait. Wha?

Outside my window…there’s a light dusting of snow.

I am thinking…that my to-do list is entirely too long.

I am thankful…for time spent with family over the past week.  And, yes, the new seat cushions at the kitchen and dining room tables that my parents gave me for Christmas.

In the kitchen…I need to empty and re-load the dishwasher.  And get ready for New Year’s.

I am wearing…jammies.  I’ve only been up 15 minutes or so.

I am creating created…a cool grandparent gift.  I’ll post it later.

I am going…to the grocery store.

I am wondering…how busy it will be.

I am reading…The Nine Tailors, An Irrational Season, Call the Sabbath a Delight, and trying to get ahead reading Desiring the Kingdom for Mystie’s book club.

I am hoping…to finish it.

I am looking forward to…New Year’s and lots of Football.  And the Ohio State game on Friday! Go Buckeyes!

I am learning…to hope better.  Thankful for Pastor’s sermon yesterday.

Around the house…some details need addressed, but not too bad after the present frenzy …

I am pondering…new schedules, new lessons, how we’re going to study Narnia, new books about Narnia.

A favorite quote for today…“If I find in myself desires which nothing in this
world can satisfy, the only logical explanation is that I was made for
another world.” C S Lewis

One of my favorite things…N-boy finishing his Christmas book in two days. He got The Father Brown Reader and has been engrossed.

A few plans for the rest of the week…New Year’s Eve with family, Day with friends, and cleaning and planning for school.  Prepping for N-boy’s eighth birthday.

A peek into my day…

Why, yes, that’s their baby cousin’s Christmas present from their grandparents.

  1. Have you looked at Kathryn Lindskoog's "Journey Into Narnia"? You can borrow my copy if you are still pondering how to study Narnia.
