The Simple Woman’s Daybook for August 6, 2012

FOR TODAY

Outside my window… it is sunny, but cooler.

I am thinking…
about what to accomplish today.

I am thankful…
for a lovely visit to my in-laws on Saturday.

In the kitchen…
I haven’t really cooked in a few days.  I don’t know what the plan is …

I am wearing…
jammies so far, but I’ll get dressed soon.

I am creating… nothing really.

I am going… to get the school notifications sent in this week.

I am wondering… what we’ll do today.

I am reading… I finished A Circle of Quiet, I don’t know what I’ll read next, perhaps Metaxas’ Bonhoffer.

I am hoping… to make it to the library soon.

I am looking forward to… a less-scheduled month.  July turned busier than I’d expected!

I am learning… more about my children.

Around the house… things are pretty straightened, but I do need to vacuum.

I am pondering… making my bed.

A favorite quote for today… see my commonplace entry from A Circle of Quiet.

One of my favorite things… the Olympics!

A few plans for the rest of the week…
our new piano teacher comes on Wednesday!

A peek into my day… “Olympics” at Fundamentals on First Friday

  1. When I saw "fundamentals" I thought maybe you had joined Classical Conversations! 🙂 Enjoy the cooler weather- we're expecting cooler temps with lots of rain all week long. Yahoo!

  2. I can't give up that much control 🙂

I don't think we're supposed to get a lot of rain, but we could use it.

    1. I'm the same way- can't give up that much control. So we're doing a lot of their memory work at home! 🙂

  3. I haven't been cooking much the past few days either (I don't count boiling hot dogs, ha). And now my husband is in the kitchen cooking supper. A real treat!

I hope you do read Metaxas' Bonhoeffer. It's wonderful. I read it last year and loved it. It's thick, but worth it.

I'm looking forward to a less-scheduled month too. The summer was too hectic for my taste, but all things were good nonetheless.

    Thanks for sharing your Daybook.
