The Simple Woman’s Daybook for May 16, 2011

FOR TODAY   May 16, 2011 …

Outside my window… it is cold again; 85 last week to 45 this morning.  Hooray Ohio!

I am thinking… about folding laundry.

I am thankful for…  our church’s dedication to shepherding its members.

From the learning rooms… We’ll be reading about stems in science this week.  We had fun learning about roots last week.

From the kitchen…  BBQ pork in the crockpot tonight.

I am wearing… black sweat pants and long sleeved Buckeye T-shirt.

I am creating… garden plans.

I am going… maybe to the library, probably to soccer.

I am reading… Acedia & Me and Essays from Russell Kirk.

I am hoping… coffee will wake me up, soon.

I am hearing… Curious George … we’re going to switch over the the Space Shuttle Endeavor launch soon.

Around the house… I really need to figure out who needs what summer clothes.

One of my favorite things… seeing N-boy love space things … he gets so excited about the Shuttle launches.

A few plans for the rest of the week: same old, same old … very busy.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing…

  1. I'm making a list for clothing shopping today. 🙂

What are you planting in the front yard? I noticed the plot in the grass…

  2. That's actually not our yard. It is over a couple of houses and in their back yard (the corner lot). There was a black bird and the children wanted to draw it in their nature journals … nature is right outside our door!

  3. Love the privileges of educating our children at home! Observing beautiful birds is one of our favorite things to do first thing in the morning. On the cooler days in Texas, we open the windows to hear their songs and to remind us to put a song in our voice.
