Simple Woman’s Daybook for March 26, 2012
FOR TODAY
Outside my window… it is dark night. Part of the moon is shining, and Jupiter and Venus are bright in the sky.
I am thinking… the Reds are getting shellacked 12-0 in the top of the 5th.
I am thankful… that Jason’s software deployment seems to be going well so far.
In the kitchen…I should get the coffee pot set up for in the morning to make it easy on my hubby.
I am wearing… jeans and a black long sleeved shirt. It’s quite a difference from the shorts and short sleeves of last week.
I am creating… lesson plans – or should be.
I am going… to the library tomorrow at some point.
I am wondering… if Ohio State will do well in the Final Four! Go Buckeyes!!
I am reading… Roots of American Order, Peter Pan, How to Write a Sentence, and two more books I’m supposed to get tomorrow … one for book club and one that’s inter library loan, so has to get done quickly.
I am hoping… The Buckeyes will win the National Championship in Basketball.
I am looking forward to… soccer season … I’ve heard from 2 of 3 coaches.
I am learning… about the Roman influence on the founding fathers and natural law. Yes, I’m several weeks behind.
Around the house… my forsythia branches need to be put out.
I am pondering… the nature of children … listening to Andrew Kern again.
A favorite quote for today…“There was another satisfaction in these days. As Daniel grew confident of the skill in his own hands, his work became a source of pleasure. It was satisfying to give a villager a pair of hinges for his house, and to know that they were not only strong and well balanced, but exactly matched and pleasing to look at as well. He became aware that something more than usefulness could take shape under his hammer, and he began to experiment.” Elizabeth George Speare in The Bronze Bow
One of my favorite things… meeting Jason at the store for the beer tasting and grocery shopping. Two grownups are better than one 🙂
A few plans for the rest of the week… slow week. Finally.
A peek into my day…

Beer tasting & grocery shopping… That sounds like a funny combo!
Whole Foods has a Monday night beer tasting every week. So we meet Jason there, eat the samples, he samples the beers, and I grocery shop. We usually get some yogurt and fruit to round out our "meal." It's been working really well for us.
Soccer season looks to ruin it, though [grimace]
"I am hoping… The Buckeyes will win the National Championship in Basketball."
You and me both!
