The Simple Woman’s Daybook for July 11, 2011

FOR TODAY   July 11, 2011 …

Outside my window… sunny and hot.

I am thinking… about pouring my second cup of coffee and waking N-boy.

I am thankful for… fun with family … and a fun adventure with Grammy for M-girl.

From the learning rooms… Ancient China continues this week.  Maybe we’ll get to Africa too.

From the kitchen… things that don’t require much heating up the kitchen.  And, for the family reunion, maybe some sort of Lemon-Blueberry cake?

I am wearing… denim shorts and purple short sleeved shirt.  I think we’ll make a library trip later.

I am creating… an herb garden this week.

I am going… to Walmart *today* … need a bunch of ‘sundries’ … dishwasher detergent not the least of them (I’m also out of dish soap! Yikes!)

I am reading… Persuasion for book club, Sense and Sensibility for me, Caring for Words in a Culture of Lies (hope to finish this week), and 3 read alouds at meals with the children. [phew]

I am hoping… to vacuum the family room in a few minutes.

I am hearing… girls talking and coloring.

Around the house… the loft needs some attention this week.  I keep putting it off, but really need to get moving.

One of my favorite things… summer reading programs that include adults!

A few plans for the rest of the week: library, errands, last tball games, babysitting my nephew & sleepover, family reunion.  Dinner with the other lady I’m planning a wedding shower with.  Busy, yay!  Some letterboxing would be nice, but I’m not sure when 🙂
