The Simple Woman’ Daybook for January 11, 2010
FOR TODAY January 11, 2010…
Outside my window… snow, snow, and more snow. And it is still snowing. Did I mention the snow?
I am thinking… I stayed up too late last night. But I was finishing getting ready for today. I need to get the prep done on Saturdays.
I am thankful for… children to educate.
From the learning rooms… Central America! What Central American food should we cook on Friday? Surfing, surfing.
From the kitchen… coffee. Oatmeal, cooked, eaten, cleaned up. Wahoo!
I am wearing… jeans and a 3/4 sleeve black tshirt. Oh, and socks, my feet were cold.
I am creating… my daybook entry?
I am going… to the Jungle Gym for tumbling this evening. M-girl moves to the gymnastics class … 3 kids, 3 different classes, all at the same time. Convenient.
I am reading… a little book on Classical Education and the Homeschool by Wes Calihan, Douglas Wilson and Doug Jones. Parts are good, parts are simply irritating.
I am hoping… for a good day of school!
I am hearing… “Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to the O Israel” from the children in the basement. I have a feeling we’re going to hear Christmas songs until next Christmas 🙂
Around the house… the washer and dryer are doing their thing.
One of my favorite things… not having to hand wash my clothes.
A few plans for the rest of the week: School!
Here is picture for thought I am sharing… Rocket Boy!

Yes, thankful for the washing machine. Have fun at the Jungle Gym.
Me too- I LOVE having a washing machine! (I can't even begin to imagine washing clothes for 8 people!)
I've never read that book- what is irritating? Where did you find that one?
Hope you had a good first day of lessons!
Just little things here and there. You can borrow mine in April, it is super short. I'll post a review later this week. I'd seen it at some point and saw some reviews on blogs.
Our day was pretty good. We got through what I intended to get through (not our full schedule). There was some good, there was some bad. That was to be expected.
Great job on the rocket cake, Dawn!
