The Simple Woman’ Daybook for February 8, 2010

FOR TODAY   February 8, 2010…

Outside my window… the sky is grey and laden with snow.  It will be falling soon enough.  And, here it is.

I am thinking… about How Lincoln Learned to Read.

I am thankful for… Similasan Pink Eye Relief ..I think M-girl had a close call.

From the learning rooms… Argentina week!  No school today, though … Daddy is home (but working) and the girls are sickies … and I’m starting to feel yucky.

From the kitchen…On Wednesday we’re going to try a new recipe: Easy Stovetop Chicken Teriyaki in Orange Ginger Sauce.

I am wearing…my brown skirt and a striped blouse.

I am creating…we’re going to make pretzel log houses and maybe profile pictures for President’s Day.

I am going… have already been to the Library and Wal-Mart for tissues and more eye drops for my sick family.Maybe we’ll have gym (if we don’t get too much snow … maybe just N-boy).

I am reading…Redeeming Science by Poythress.  Instructing a Child’s Heart by the Tripps, and The Young Unicorns (by L’Engle), I’m sure.

I am hoping…we don’t get the 8 inches of snow that is forecast.

I am hearing… the Bach Magnificat.

Around the house… laundry, dishwasher, children playing … a nap for me, maybe.

One of my favorite things… San Pelligrino Aranciata.  No HFCS, but the same sort of feel as soda.

A few plans for the rest of the week:  getting healthy, children are going to COSI, Bible Study for me. We have a busy week.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing…

  1. Sorry you all are sick- we've been battling various colds/coughs/sore throats for a few weeks now & now I'm sick. SO NOT FUN!
