The Simple Woman’ Daybook for February 8, 2010
FOR TODAY February 8, 2010…
Outside my window… the sun is glistening through the frozen trees and reflecting off the snow.
I am thinking… about starting school in a bit.
I am thankful for… the sun. It is much cheerier.
From the learning rooms… We’re studying Chile this week.
From the kitchen… Sticky Chicken in the crockpot for supper.
I am wearing… jeans, a white shirt, and a new brown jacket.
I am creating… plans for the garden. It seems to be a little strange to be doing it with so much snow on the ground, but now’s the time!
I am going… to stay home as much as I can this week.
I am reading… Still working on Abe Lincoln, added The Moon by Night by L’Engle, The Little Book of Christian Character and Manners (found it on Amazon, Heather), and Redeeming Science (by Poythress). No wonder I’m not finishing anything!
I am hoping… to finish a couple of these books this week.
I am hearing… N-boy coughing 🙁
Around the house… laundry, dishwasher, straightening in process.
One of my favorite things… is reading books. The above list isn’t unusual.
A few plans for the rest of the week: the children are going to COSI with my parents, I’ve some Chilean recipes for Saturday, hoping to not be snowed in on Tuesday/Wednesday.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing…

Oh, I'm so glad you found that book! Let me know what you think!
Does the "Sticky Chicken" turn out crispy in the crockpot? I've always made it in the oven.
Was the pic from our visit to see the butterflies?
I will.
I don't know, I would guess that it doesn't. I don't know that I've actually made it more than once (in the oven) anyway. Actually, I've never roasted a chicken in the crockpot! An experiment of sorts 🙂
Nope, it was from Hilton Head in Oct. They were everywhere! Still dreaming of the beach 🙂
I love your photo. It makes me think of warmer days. Have a lovely week!
