The Simple Woman’ Daybook for February 1, 2010

FOR TODAY   February 1, 2010…

Outside my window… the snow is melting away, but it is still very cold.

I am thinking… about what all I need to accomplish planning wise before the homeschool conference.

I am thankful for… R-girl going potty on her own one time this morning!

From the learning rooms… we’re studying South America this week.

From the kitchen… need to put the roast in the crock pot … then Wednesday, Shepherd’s Pie from the leftovers!

I am wearing… my black sweat-suit; gym tonight!

I am creating… mp3s, I’m hoping to clean out space in the family room and make the CDs accessible on the Zune.

I am going… to shelve the book haul I found at Once Upon A Child last week.

I am reading… How Abraham Lincoln Learned to Read (interesting). Green Revolution (kinda boring). Amanda’s copy of Instructing a Child’s Heart.

I am hoping… to finish one of those books this week!

I am hearing… A Snoodle’s Tale.

Around the house… The laundry (including ironing!) is caught up! Yay, me!

One of my favorite things… Mars Hill Audio. I’ve been listening to Volumes 98 and 99 in the last couple of weeks. Some of the interviews on Volume 99 are particularly interesting regarding the use of words and contemplative reading have me considering.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Coffee with Anna, play date and dinner with the Hannahs. Lots of school.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing…

  1. Hi, I enjoyed your daybook. Do your kiddos really enjoy the marble maze? I've been wondering if I should get one for my boys.

  2. what is "the Zune?"

Marble maze… that might be a great idea for a birthday gift this year… do you have issues with R-girl putting it in her mouth?

  3. Microsoft's mp3 player is called a Zune. I've had it a couple of years from my brother?

R-girl is great with not putting anything in her mouth 🙂
