The Simple Woman’ Daybook for August 16, 2010
FOR TODAY August 16, 2010
Outside my window… the humidity has broken for a few days and it is surprisingly nice. I’ll have to send the kiddos out when they awaken.
I am thinking… about yesterday’s sermon comparing & contrasting Martha & Mary’s response to Jesus on the event of Lazarus’ death. And Mary & Lazarus’ reaction to his calling them. Good stuff.
I am thankful for… Quiet Time; especially thankful on days where everyone, including Momma, is tired.
From the learning rooms… a rough morning, everyone tired, but we did it. That feels like an accomplishment.
From the kitchen… baked chicken and zucchini. Tomorrow I *must* do something to preserve tomatoes.
I am wearing… denim shorts and sleeveless red blouse.
I am creating… lesson plans and files.
I am going… to COSI with my sister-in-law and her boys on Friday. Sounds like fun!
I am reading… Lots of Heyer. Total mind candy for the summer. I’m actually, also, almost done with The Core (yeah, you’ve heard that before).
I am hoping… the rest of the week goes better than this morning.
I am hearing… a replay of the Rose Bowl from January … have I mentioned that football season starts in 17 days?!?
Around the house… laundry needs swapped, kitchen needs cleaned, and school room needs organized. I’ve an evening ahead of me.
One of my favorite things… College Football … 17 days, baby!
A few plans for the rest of the week: COSI, shopping, school, R-girl has a day with my parents planned. Nice and quiet. Awaiting the busy-ness of autumn with choir, soccer, gym classes, etc.
Here is picture for thought I am sharing…
How fun to see them working together! |

My file system is working great (2nd week using it)- it has helped a lot! I just love being organized! Makes me happy!
Fun pic- great angle! We need to swap pics since we didn't do that while you were here. I'll burn a CD for you- can you email me yours? We miss you guys- seems so quiet! 🙂
I don't know what COSI is but it sounds like fun. I love the picture. It brings back a lot of memories. When I was little I loved making pot holders. Have a great week. Doylene
