Saturday was “Absolutely Audrey” day on American Movie Classics and I enjoyed watching Audrey Hepburn in two of my favorite movies: Sabrina and Roman Holiday. Roman Holiday is my favorite of the two, although I like this original Sabrina very much. If Roman Holiday had been made today, the story would have been ruined, but the simplicity of the love story and Princess Ann’s understanding of her duty are beautifully portrayed. I caught the very end of Breakfast at Tiffany’s as well. I know that’s supposed to be the classic, but I’ve never really liked it all that much and can’t really put my finger on why.
