Podcast Addicted: A Delectable Education
The ladies from Living Books Library, Sabbath Mood Homeschool, and the writer of SCM’s (awesome) Picture Study Portfolios are producing a Charlotte Mason podcast called “A Delectable Education.”
And it’s delectable.
They discuss one aspect of CM philosophy each episode and try to adhere to a “short lesson” format. I’ve listened to not quite half of their episodes, and the longest of what I’ve listened to is 35 minutes. That’s a nice length for those short walk days.
They quote CM books and ideas, they discuss the ideas and practical applications. They’ve helped this listener with a deeper understanding of living books; narration; atmosphere, discipline, and life. Their format is slightly different than some of my favorites. Instead of an interview or Q&A session, the same three ladies gather – over tea? – and discuss a prepared topic. This conversation is generally insightful and a good way for CM ideas to just wash over one’s mind.
As a new practicioner of CM principals, having these direct conversations to consider has helped me to improve my teaching, and, thus, my homeschool.
This is one I don't think I've heard of, although the name sounds familiar – I'll be checking it out!
Great! I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
