Memory Work Monday: August 1, 2011

Memory Work for the week of … : August 1, 2011

Bible: Galatians 5:22-23

Catechism/Creed: We almost have the Nicene Creed down.  M-girl is working on the 7th and 8th Commandments,  N-boy is working on Christ’s offices, and R-girl is working on what Jesus undertook in the Covenant of Grace.

Hymn: A new month means starting a new hymn! “Hallelujah, Praise Jehovah, O My Soul”

Poetry: M-girl and N-boy are working on “The Eagle” and R-girl is working on “My Shadow”.  They are all [this close] to knowing these, so I’m hoping we’ll be able to move on next week.

Counting: skip counting by 4s.

Other Memory Work: We’re going to add in the next 4 history sentences dealing with Sargon, the Minoans, Abraham, and Mohenjo-daro.  We’ve studied these, with the exception of the Minoans already.  We’re learning the “The Middle of the United States.”  And we’ll practice all of our plant memory work this week before moving on to the human body memory work next week.
