Jason and I attended a wine tasting on Tuesday at The Yard Club at O’Toole’s. The wines we tried were all European and brought in by Frederick Wildman and Sons, Ltd.

We drank the J.J. Vincent St. Veran, “Domaine de Morats” with the appetizer course. This white was easy to drink with very light flavors.

Then we had Pascal Jolivet Sancerre, Loire Valley with our salad course. I liked this white better than the first. It has stronger flavors and highlighted the flavors in the salad nicely.

Next, we sampled an Italian wine: Melini Chianti Classico Riserva. This was served with a fabulous roasted beef tenderloin. This is one of the first reds that I have really enjoyed. I definitely tend to prefer white wines, but this Chianti could help me change my mind.

Finally, with our chocolate caramel cheesecake (yum!) we drank Churchill’s 10 Year Tawny Port. This was by far the best wine of the evening, IMO. Of course, I don’t have a very educated wine opinion. Yet.
