I don’t generally participate in memes but have been short of blog fodder and am a bit under the weather, so since I’ve been tagged by Deb at Let a Woman Learn, I thought I’d participate. The rules are:
1. Pick up the nearest book of at least 123 pages.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the 5th sentence.
4. Post the next 3 sentences.
5. Tag 5 people.
My computer sits next to the bookshelves in our loft, and one of the not-really-put- away books was the closest in arms’ reach: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe:
“For when they tried to look at Aslan’s face they just caught a glimpse of the golden mane and great, royal, solemn, overwhelming eyes; and then they found they couldn’t look at him and went all trembly.
‘Go on,’ whispered Mr. Beaver.
‘No,’ whispered Peter, ‘You first.'”
I’m not going to tag anyone, but if you want to participate, you know who you are 🙂
Oh, we just LOVE the Narnia books. What great read-alouds for the family!
I’ll assume I’m one of those people and join in. The book is “Don’t Make Me Count to Three!” by Ginger Plowman
The 5th sentence is the last sentence of the chapter. What do I do? What do I do, Bob??? (Sorry- bit of Veggie Tale humor!) Here is the 5th sentence:
“Moms who have a teapot temper need to depend on God’s grace to enable them to act contrary to their nature and in harmony with the Word of God.”
What do you think about that book? The title totally turns me off, but I’ve read some really good reviews.
Oh, and you’re supposed to put it on your blog :p
Don’t think I’ll get it to my blog. Sorry.
I have liked the book very well. Kinda suprised by that. I have a few theological disagreements. It is a good read AFTER reading “Sheperading a Child’s Heart.” Not really big into parenting books but this was worth picking up from the library to read!
I posted it on my blog.
🙂
“moms who have a teapot temper” . . . I love that! well, I mean, I don’t love that I’m like that, but it’s a good description of something I REALLY need to work on (and depend on God’s grace, of course!)
Michelle
Thanks for participating. I don’t usually either (or awards) but I’m a book lover so I wanted in on this one.
Blessings!
