Circle Time Monday for February 11, 2013
Memory Work for the week of … February 11, 2013
Bible: continuing in Philippians 2. Last week we added verses 12-13. We’re going to stay there this week. Several years ago we did Genesis 1, and have practiced it since. We’re going to work on each day for a week for the next weeks and see if we can really soak it in better.
Catechism/Creed: No changes here. We continue with The Apostle’s Creed. M-girl continues her 4 page per
day review, N-boy is working on the questions regarding Baptism, R-girl
continues on the 3rd and 4th Commandments.
Hymn: We’re adding verse 2 of ‘Ah, Holy Jesus, How Hast Thou Offended.’
Covenantal Catechism: Last week was about the Fall. This week, in Lesson 5, about the promise. Less reading this week. Probably will review Bible verses more.
Poetry: The older two are completing Jabberwocky and R-girl is supposed to be working on The Duke of Plaza Toro. She does know Jabberwocky. I probably could have let them be done with Jabberwocky.
Counting: Working on counting by 8s. I think next week we’ll add 9s. We should definitely go back and review 3s, 4s, 6s, and 7s more.
History:
We continue adding a card a day. Today, the Hyksos invaded Egypt!
Science: We’re reviewing the phases of the moon.
Geography: started learning the Central America Song.
Latin: Added the Food Chant.
Reading: Poetry for Young People Robert Frost, Tina Packer’s Tales from Shakespeare Othello, and continue working on Opal Wheeler’s Story of Peter Tchaikovsky. I expect to finish the Wheeler this week. We’ll switch to an Artist (or two: Degas and Manet) next, need to find a book.
