I had borrowed this book from the church library, but downloaded it for Kindle (before I had one … hooray for Kindle for PC!)
I enjoyed this. It was an encouraging read in an area that I could particularly improve my walk in. The first half of the book is a theology of prayer: why? what use? who? The second half of the book is more on the practicals.
Miller does a nice job of interspersing real life experience of the daily needs into the text.
The practical recommendations were helpful to an extent. Here his text leans a little too far toward “Jesus talks to me” in places for me. I do appreciate his emphasis on learning the Word as a means for interaction with the Lord and a “vocabulary” for conviction regarding our sin and need of a savior.
Overall, this was a very helpful, readable book for the Christian wishing to enrich his prayer life.
