Book Review: The Horse and His Boy (Audio CD)
The Horse and His Boy by C.S. Lewis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Own. Audio CD
We listened to this book on the very long drive home.
Jason and I had listened to it a number of years ago on a similarly long drive. I didn’t remember liking it nearly as much as I liked it this time.
I enjoyed considering Aslan’s hand and presence in Shasta’s life … even when he seemed or felt forsaken. I liked hearing how one’s story if for yourself and not shared with others. I loved how utterly surprised the children were when Aslan was made known to them.
The reader on the audio edition we own (and it’s in the van, so I can’t find out who he was) was very, very good. My favorite reader
Fitting it into the context of the series aided my enjoyment of the story. I’m looking forward to more in the series.
it's my next to least favorite of the chronicles of narnia. ("the silver chair" is the only one i dislike more.)
