Book Review: Five Red Herrings by Dorothy L Sayers
Five Red Herrings by Dorothy L. Sayers
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Library.
This was my least favorite Lord Peter book so far.
1) I never really understood why they were spending so much time on train travel. The train travel was confusing to one who has never traveled by train.
2) There were at least three different dialects to translate while reading.
3) The murder was unsatisfactory.
4) Bunter made few short appearances.
5) This is after Harriet Vane is introduced in Strong Poison and I wish to read more of her.
6) The map in my edition was unreadably useless.
I still enjoyed Sayers’ style and a few statements stood out to me here and there, but I’m ready to move on. Finally.
