Ah. It is good to be back. I do apologize for not blogging yesterday. Hopefully this morning will be sufficient.

I had a very busy two months, but I don’t want to inundate you with all of it. Suffice it to say that this was fun, vacation was wonderful, and my future sister-in-law’s shower went off without a hitch. Otherwise I read a lot and enjoyed the summer.

One of the things I read was Peace Like a River. I really liked it despite some flaws. The biggest one, in my opinion, is that no 9 or 11 year old talk like the ones in the book. Yes, it was being written like a memory by the 11-year old character when he was an adult, but these children were quite precocious. The story is of a family (dad, brother, narrator brother, and sister). The older brother kills two boys who have abused his little sister and escapes from jail. The family goes west to find him, but really finds itself. There’s a beautiful picture of heaven. And miracles abound.

Oh, and since the day after I began my hiatus, I’ve wanted to say WOW.
