Wednesday with Words: With Glorious Splendor
Merry Christmas!
We sang ‘Lo, How A Rose E’er Blooming’ at our Sunday evening service. I like it, it’s hard to sing, but so lovely (and I got the alto line right for the first time!)
I love the final stanza and thought I’d share it for our Christmas post. I totally understand if you don’t have words, time, energy, inclination, but I wanted to make it available if any of you do.
I hope you and yours revel in the glorious splendor in the incarnation of our Savior, the Word becoming Flesh.
This Flower, whose fragrance tender with sweetness fills the air
Dispels with glorious splendor the darkness everywhere;
True man, yet very God, from sin and death He saves us,
And lightens every load.

What lovely lines! That's a carol that's unfamiliar to me. Thank you for sharing!
Merry Christmas to your family from mine, Dawn!
Thanks Amy. The music is haunting and mysterious, not lilting and excited like so many of today's carols. I like that.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
I adore this hymn. I didn't remember the last verse, so thank you for sharing it! Merry Christmas!
You're very welcome. Merry Christmas, Lisa 🙂
Sharing some carol lines as well this week. Merry Christmas!
Carols seemed very appropriate this week, Lisa shared some from the EO tradition that were lovely 🙂 Hope you're having a great holiday!
