The Simple Woman’s Daybook for January 6, 2013

FOR TODAYEpiphany!

Outside my window…it is very cold.  The sky was blue, but is now grey.  We’ll see if we get more snow.

I am thinking…about school.

I am thankful…that the pediatrician appointments went well and that the children are all healthy.

In the kitchen…it’s about time to make lunch.  We had oatmeal with coconut this morning, my favorite way.

I am wearing…jeans and my “it’s a very cold day” sweater. It’s a wool sweater that I bought at the International Festival more than 20 years ago, my Freshman year at Ohio State. I love that sweater 🙂

I am creating…I’m trying to make this poncho.

I am going…to work on assignment sheets for the next few weeks.  I hope we can start slowly, but ramp up quickly.

I am wondering…about abiding and sojurning.

I am reading…Out of the Silent Planet and The Liberal Arts Tradition. Both very good so far.

I am hoping…that the Narnia study will go very well.

I am looking forward to…first basketball games this weekend.

I am learning…to get up earlier.  I’m trying anyway.

Around the house…I definitely need to vacuum today.  Jason’s home working or I would’ve done it earlier. I also need to undecorate from Christmas.

I am pondering…abiding and sojurning.

A favorite quote for today…“Thus theology was not supposed to intrude upon the lower disciplines from without but to offer nourishment to their basic principles from within, allowing each subject to explore the artistry of a creative God.  Education in this manner, coupled with the grace of Christ, was not a matter of indoctrination, but about bringing each nature to its fullest potential in a living and vibrant community.  Thus the curriculum was grounded in piety and governed by theology.” The Liberal Arts Tradition by Clark and Jain pg 5

One of my favorite things…I love putting up the Christmas decorations; and I love taking them down.

A few plans for the rest of the week…cleaning, planning, basketball, Bible Study.

A peek into my day…

Toolbox, Lego Idea Book, and a new Baseball Glove.  Yay for being 8!
