Book Review: The Wind in the Willows (Family Read Aloud)

The Wind in the Willows (Puffin Classics)The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Own.

We enjoyed this read aloud as a family.  It was a challenging book to read loud, but that is part of its charm.  We loved Mole and Ratty, and Mr. Badger.  Their friendships, their hospitality, their care for one another and for Mr. Toad were generous, loving, and fine examples.  We each had our favorite parts: I (Dawn) enjoyed the portion in Mole’s home with the carolers,  Jason liked the part where Mr. Toad first saw motor cars, N-boy appreciated the Return of Ulysses, M-girl Mr. Toad’s adventures.

This edition had a nice series of questions to consider and we enjoyed discussing those.

This is another book I can imagine revisiting in several years.
