Book Review: The Magician’s Nephew (Audio Book)

The Magician's Nephew (Chronicles of Narnia, #1)The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Own.  Audio CD.

We listened to The Magician’s Nephew during a long car ride Friday and Saturday.

While confusing at points, I enjoyed listening to this tale which explained so much.  The description of the creation of Narnia was so beautiful.  The dealings of Aslan with all of the humans was beautiful and wonderful.  The emphasis on keeping one’s word and promises was beautifully intertwined throughout the story.

Lewis is certainly a master storyteller.

  1. Narnia books are one of our favorites- we own the hard copies as well as the audio. Even Lizzie (age 3) knows the stories.

  2. Mystie, it is my first time through! I've read LWW several times (and listened to the audio) and we listened to The Horse and His Boy on CD during a drive before we had children, but I've not read any of the others. I'm excited to do so!

Heather, we have both as well. M-girl has one of the books on her shelf to read, but she's been working on some other things instead. She already finished LWW.
